Sfant Umbra began as a secret mercenary business within the depths of the Aht Urhgan Empire. With the rise and fall of business it slowly faded from memory. That is, until a descendant of the creator happened across some old parchments one day...

Screen Name: Kevel
Character Name: Kevel D'larray
Gender: Male
Race: Hume
Age: 23
Main Job: Warrior
Subjob: Dark knight
Other Jobs: Thief, Monk, and other close combat types.
Birthplace: Bastok
Residence: Bastok
Family: Karen D'larray (mother) Sabastian D'larray (father) Claire D'larray (missing and presumed dead sister)

Appearance: Kevel is often mistaken for being younger than he actually is due to being shorter than other Hume and soft boyish features. The soft look about him contrasts his personality save for his wild unkempt blond hair.

Personality:
He's confident in his abilities and ideals and does not hesitate to let others know. He will usually point out stupid mistakes in biting and sarcastic way as his form of tough love and to help people learn from their mistakes. Most of the time he is jovial and casual, though off-color. However he is quick to take the offensive when he feels that a friend or himself has been crossed.
Kevel has a chip on his shoulder towards those who flaunt their power, those who have large sums of money, and generally those of the ruling and upper classes. He hates those that did not work for what they have, those that use others as a crutch, and those that allow themselves to be a crutch for others. He is also prone to jealousy of more seasoned adventurers.

History: Kevel was born into the D'larray working class-family in Bastok. They lived amongst Galka and the few other hume lower class mining family in the Residential district within Bastok Mines.
Though always under the shadow of the governing and ruling class of Bastok, Kevel and his younger sister Claire had a pleasant childhood, their father worked close by in the mines their mother was at home and there was plenty of room in the streets for them to play.
However, everything changed when Kevel was 13. He and his sister were separated in Zeruhn Mines after looking for their father who had not been home much later than usual. Tremors began to be felt within the mines and guards began to evacuate the mines. When Kevel found himself outside he realized that his sister was not there. He tried to rush back into the mines but was restrained. He began to protest to the guards that they need to go back for his sister but they would not allow him or go back in for one person. He became outraged and was restrained until a thunderous crash was heard from the mines. Nobody knew for sure what had happened but Kevel knew that it was a cave-in.
Claire was never found and it turned out that Sabastian had been at the steaming sheep tavern with some other miners after work. The loss of Claire tore a hole into their family. Blame was constantly placed and contested. The guard's conduct at the mines ignited a sensitivity to the rift between classes that exists in Bastok within Kevel and he began to cause trouble in the upper class areas of Bastok Markets and routinely get thrown out of the steaming sheep as he got older.
Eventually the tension in his home , between the unspoken feelings about the loss of Claire and Kevel's constant trouble with the guards, Kevel was driven to get his own mog house and live out on the streets of Bastok. He eventually befriended Gulldago who turned him to the life of an adventurer. The idea of travel, adventure, and possible prosperity inspired Kevel to leave his street rat life behind and become an adventurer. His upbringing gave him a resilience, high work ethic, and a sharp versatile mind. However he was not well read or very studious, so he chose the way of the warrior for it's utilitarian versatility and set out into Gustaberg to begin a new life.
Now he has been all over the world, seen many things, felt many things, and experienced things he had never imagined. He has become accustomed to the life of an adventurer and devoted the martial mastery of the warrior. His rebellious and vagrant personality has weaved itself into the roughneck personality of a seasoned warrior. Kevel is optimistic about his future. He serves Bastok loyally despite his love and hate relationship with the nation, he believes in it's people and works to change the social landscape of the torn nation. Though even though he is often in Bastok, he rarely visits his parents.
