Background:
Robin is the eldest of 3 siblings and took care of them. As he was growing up it became clear at an early age he was extremely bright and artistic. No matter what he tried he seemed to be able to do extremely well. His shortcoming was that once he learned something he ultimately lost intrest in in, moving on to something else, so he has never truely met his full potential.
This continued all through his education in magic except a teacher named Oreclele took a special interest in him. She kept him focused on his magic studies and also the privledge of sharing tea when she visited her good friend the Star Sybil who she used to be a personal servant to. In order to encourage him she spoke well of him even to the likes of Professor Shantoto, who though dismissing him couldn't completely discount his bright mind and unharnessed talent for magic.
He was soon conscripted by the Opistry with Historical research to Oreclele's dismay he proposed and started a project on a united history of Vana' diel. He went on a trip for 3 years spending time in each nation and thorough his affable personality and talent gained many friends in places of influence being spoken well of no matter where he went. He even was given an honory kinighthood by King Destin.
At the close of his project when he returned to Windurst his focus would soon change. Oreclele pressed him to finish his magical education, strived to impress on him and others his true talent and future lay there-in. Upon her death he found she had recommended him to the Star Sybil to look into Karaha-Baruha's research since there had been renewed interest in the forbidden art by the masses and now also Scholarly Strtegies should perhaps they be needed in the future. His work he primarily keeps the nature of his work to himself.
