History of Sfant Umbra

Sfant Umbra, known as "Shadow Saint" in an unknown ancient dialect, began as a secret mercenary business within the depths of the Aht Urhgan Empire, situated on the Aradjiah Continent, a landmass found east of Mindartia. It was here an Elvaan assassin by the name of Sharif Al'Mumit employed the services of his many followers. An underground group, they assisted Her people taking on the smaller tasks many of the Immortal Guards would overlook. However, the Sfant Umbra also served the darker side of the Empire often taking on the more sinister jobs, assassinations, and exploitations. If there was a job to be done one could count on the Sfant Umbra to complete the task no matter the the consequences. Many times the Immortal Guard would attempt to investigate the inner workings of this group.

Despite this, it lead to more riches than Sharif would ever have known what to do with. Unfortunately, the Divine Empress' forces at last discovered the questionable tasks that the Sfant Umbra would take on. Forced with possible intervention from the Immortal Guards, Sharif had no other choice but to lay low. As time passed the Immortals slowly lost interest in the group and once more business resumed. However... A new mercenary group quickly emerged, seemingly supported by the Divine Empress herself. Business fell as this corporation dubbed Salaheem's Sentinels became an overnight success.

With the loss of business and the Immortals taking authority over Aht Urhgan, many of Sharif's loyal employees would seek work within the Sentinels. Ultimately this would be the downfall of Sfant Umbra and both it and Sharif soon became distant memories swept away in time. That is, until a decendant of the assassin's kindred would happen across the old documents and treasures of the ill-fated group. Here is where our true story begins...
