As part of Rise of the Witch there will be battles and minions! Contracts will be made and taken! The details of these will we posted as they are discovered by out intrepid mercenaries! How much you find out and determine will effect the ending! That's right this is an interactive event and whether Sfant Umbra succeeds in stopping Nikkita is up to you!

What Will You Take On?


As part of the LS storyline contract jobs will be made available on minion characters in the storyline but your first job is to discover those minions. These minions can be discovered both in storyline RPs and through personal investigations of the members. If your character mentions something they are going to look into you where you would uncover something you will be sent a /tell or a PM with that information or told you'll have an opportunity to confront a minion.

If you are given information to give out please give it in the form of a story to post in the Archives to expand the story.

As for minions, the IC Details are here in Wanted! (A Notice to All Mercenaries). As minions are discovered a notice will be posted Icly as an open contract for which you can let the event coordinator know you want to set up an RP. In this thread their personal battle stats will be posted so you'll know what rules will be followed.


General Battle Rules and Details



-Randoms are used to determine results. All combatants roll at the same time with their opponents higher wins. In areas where more than one would be engage a battle wave and turn based approach will be taken if needed.

-Nik will only have maximum of 5 Minions. If they are engaged in a fight and killed before the final fight they won't be there. Obviously the more of her minions that are discovered and dispatched the more likely the win for the LS during the final confrontation.

-It will take Nik and her minions a total of successful attacks to defeat your character depending on level. It will be culmulative from all minions present:

Level 70-75: 20 successful
Level 60-65 15 successful
Level 50-55 10 successful
Level 40-45 6 successful
Level 20-35 5 successful
Level 1-15 4 successful

The info below applies to both single and group encounters.

Fight results will be determined by randoms as follows:

-Rolling higher than them means a successful action against or them rolling higher than you means they successfully evade and thier action is successful.

-When fighting spells are based on what is available at person’s level and subjob.

- After 5 succesful attacks a WS actually on the person’s list can be used against Nikki and her minions. One successful weapon skill equals 2 normal attacks against them.

-When fighting spells are based on what is available at person’s level and subjob.

- If two successful attacks preying upon their weaknesses are used it results in a KO. Weaknesses must be discovered by player's IC knowledge.


Special Traits

A) They can pick 2 special abilities and if they are to use them (to aviod god-modding) these must either be written in a thread reserved for them or stated before the battle started. These cannot be changed mid-combat.

B) Two corresponding weakness must be chosen and used along with the strength. These can be elemental or damage related. Weaknesses always count for 2 damage points rather than 1 when used againts your character.

C) These special attacks can be assigned a certain roll number to be successful to make it more fair.

D) For special abilities you may choose something that is unique to your character or a Job Ability.

E) For long acting job abilities they can only be up for 3 turns.

F) Special abilites can only be used once per fight.

Pet Guidelines


1) It takes two turns to summon a pet during battle. Can be interrupted by a roll 500+ by an opponent.

2) All pet's attacks hit for 1 point of damage on regular or 2 if there is a weakness (ie Elemental and Beast weaknesses and strengths). This also applies to attacks against the pet also.

3) All pets can be defeated with 5 successful hits.

4) 1 preselected pet job ability (ie Pet move, Blood pact) can be used per battle counting for 2 hits. You may preselect 2 abilities from which to choose from during battle. These will be chosen before the battle begins and cannot be changed midbattle.

5) 1 preselected pet special move (ie WS or spell) can be used per battle. You may preselect 2 abilities from which to choose from during battle. These will be chosen before the battle begins and cannot be changed midbattle.

6) You can fight along side your pet at any time during battle but if you do your opponent can choose whether to attack you or the pet. This includes spells.

7) If you choose to send the pet to fight by itself your opponent can only attack your pet. If there are multiple opponents one can engage your pet and one can engage you.

Spells:

She has access to all spells as a BLM with a WHM sub of her level.

Weapon skills will either be daggar or staff based on what she has available.

Abilities:

-While she can instantly use Blaze Spikes her Fire Spells take normal casting time and can be interrupted.

-She carries all of the following items with her and can use up to 2 of each of these in each fight:

Poison Dust

Has an AOE poison effect which makes it hard to hit her from being woozy. If this is in effect her opponent must have 2 successful rolls instead of one to be effective. An antidote or poisona can dispel this.

Nikki's Custom Potion:

A combination of Paralyisis and Venom Potion it renders the targeted individual unable to attack on that turn. She can dose the person either with a poisoned throwing weapon besides tricking them into taking it. In addition, unless paralysis is dispelled, the player under its effect must roll to see if they can move in additon to if they are successful. Also, if they fail in that roll, if the poison isn't to dispel, will effect them and counts as an attack on their character separate from the other attack.

Battle:

- It takes 5 successful attacks to KO Nikki. She can be killed but it is entirely up to your character if you do. You may decide to spare her and let her go or capture her and try to detain her.

- If Nikki has minions in battle which you successfully defeat before getting to her you will be assigned a tiring factor which will add another attack necessary to defeat her. ( ie if all 5 are present it will take 10 successful attacks)

- Nikki always carries 2 flasks each of the following and can be used during battle: echo drops, antidote, poison potion, prisim powder, silent oil, hi-ether and hi-pot.

Abilities and Battle Rules:

Typical Imp abilities and job abilities for his level and use club weapon skills if forced to fight. Like most Imps he prefers to support unless made to fight. See here for more details..

Abrasive Tantara: 10' AoE Amnesia. Not used if Horn is broken.
This he'd be able to use one time in a fight.

Deafening Tantara: 10' AoE Silence. Not used if Horn is broken.
This he'd be able to use one time in a fight.

Frenetic Rip: Single-target three-fold physical attack. Only used once their Horn has been broken. Again Single use in a fight.

Resist Silence: From SCH job. Unless the caster rolls 500+ he can resist it if his roll is 100+.

Permanent Accession on his enhancing magic making every enhancing spell an AoE. This is a typical ability of Leechkeepers.

Spells:

He will always be able to use these white spells: Protect IV, Shell IV, Blink, Stoneskin, Haste, Phalanx, Regen II and Refresh. He will use these at the begining of the fight and from that point on must roll to see if its successful.

He will always be able to use these black magic spells: Drain, Aspir, Tier 3 elemental spells. He must roll to be successful.

He will always have access to these Scholar spells:

Storm Spells. He will avoid spells that would affect his party members elemental weaknesses when with them and likewise use those that boost their strengths. He must have a successful roll to do so.

Helix Spells: All available to SCH at his level.

Addendum White: Erase and Reraise. Must roll 2x to be successful.

Addendum Black: Warp and Escape. Must roll 2x to be successful.

I'm considering giving him these abilities if you both agree:

Resist Sleep: Unless the caster rolls 500+ he can resist it if his roll is 100+.

Grating Tantara: 10' AoE damage and Amnesia. Not used if Horn is broken. Only used by certain Notorious Monsters. Single use in fight.

Info: He's the Imp I've been alluding to. He's from the past and has no knowledge of the future accept for what Nik tells him. He hasn't been out running around in the open and generally won't be too far from where Nik is.

He'll generally hang in the back near Nik and support the fighters. Once 2 are dispatched Nik would have him engage the fighters and support them with Black Magic until it looks like she needs to retreat. This would be triggered when he's forced to use Frenetic Rip or is close to demise.

Battle:

- 20 rolls higher than Donicus (combined by all fighting) + a successful WS (combined by all fighting) means a KO and he can be killed.

Abilities:

Attacks using a Great Axe.

Has Access to Keen Edge once per fight.

Goblin Rush: Single target triple attack with Knockback
Bomb Toss (1): 8' AOE Fire damage.
Bomb Toss (2): Suicide AOE Fire damage.

Battle:

It takes 6 successful attacks to defeat him.


Name: Churlox
Type: Goblin
Job: Beastmaster
Level: 40
Pet: ??? (Level ???)

Churlox attacks using an Axe and with her pet. If Churlox is killed the pet will randomly attack anyone determined by who rolls lower than him.

Once per fight it is possible for the pet to become uncharmed. If this happens she will need to roll higher than her enemies to regain control.

Churlox has access to the choice of one of the following once per fight:

Goblin Rush: Single target triple attack with Knockback
Gale Axe Weapon Skill.

Her pet has the choice of one of the following abilities available once per fight.

???

Battle Rules:

Fight results will be determined by randoms as follows:

- ??? rolls higher than the pet + a weapon skill (combined by all fighting her) means a KO and he can be killed.

- 4 rolls higher Churlox (ie 3 successful attacks) means KO.

The Under Imps


Names: Sniker and Snak
Type: Imps
Job: Black Mages without subs
Level: 50

Abilities:

All Tier 2 elemental spells. Sniker has Fire 3 and Snak Water 3. Both can cast Sleep, Escape or Warp. They can also Warp 2 allies.

In preperation for the battle in the conclusion I am posting revised rules since it will be our first attempt at a text style battle.

The remaining minions infortmation will be going up shortly.

So there won't be any problems please post any special abilities here before the confrontation and ask any questions. No switching of abilities or changing of rules will happen mid battle.

Well to make this fair I'll be eliminating the under imps from the battle. Also 2 more allies will com to the aid of those attending to take care of freeing you up.
